The polar ice cap as a whole is shrinking. Images from NASA satellites show that the area of permanent ice cover is contracting at a rate of 9 percent each decade. If this trend continues, summers in the Arctic could become ice-free by the end of the century.
Since 1979, the size of the summer polar ice cap has shrunk more than 20 percent.

  1. Nice job of posting a blog! Although Shpend I recommend that you put more detail into your posts! You mention that a polar ice cap is shrinking, but why? Back up your answers in your posts. Use notes that Ms. Abromaitis supply us, put more time and effort into your blogs. Follow the formula "what's there" "why there" Why care". You may find it helpful in terms of organization! But don't forget this is a learning opportunity bud, this is a learning process. So you learn from your mistakes and you fix them and improve!
